Steve
Steve is the Internal Auditor at Midwest Members Credit Union; he’s been with the company for six months. His favorite part of the job is working with the team for the greater good and success of all. Steve enjoys exercise, especially running, and reading financial history and military history articles and books, but accounting textbooks are his favorite. His dream vacation would take place in Liverpool and London, England. If he could learn anything, it would be to speak Spanish fluently. He describes himself as humble, hungry, and energetic!
Lying is Steve’s biggest pet peeve and the one thing he just can’t resist is trying to get an “A” in everything. He enjoys Rock & Roll music from the 1960’s through today, Saturday Night Live is his favorite TV show, and he’s a fan of the New York Yankees. The meal he likes the most is the pepper loin from Tony’s Restaurant in Alton. If he could have one superpower, he’d like to have the ability to fly.
Owning a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible with sky blue factory paint, visiting Los Angeles, California, and traveling to Liverpool and London, England are all on his bucket list. If he could witness any historical event, Steve would like to see the 1956 World Series perfect game pitched by Don Larsen of the New York Yankees against the Brooklyn Dodgers. If he won the lottery, he would donate to health organizations and children’s education programs, and buy that 1967 Camaro!
His idea of a perfect day would be running two miles in the early morning, having a productive day while learning new things at work, going home to swim in the pool and then grill steaks and have an outdoor dinner with family and friends. He fondly remembers going to his paternal grandparents’ house on Sundays as a child, where he would have Grandma’s homemade fried chicken and visit with his aunts, uncles, and cousins. What is his process for turning a bad day into a good one? “As my father says, ‘When the feet touch the floor from bed, it’s already a great day.’ Count my blessings.”
